Click on the 'Settings' button

Once there, click on the 'Naming' tab

Under the section where it says "Create File Names From" put a check in the box next to 'Advanced' and then type in the name you want the track to have. Dont' let it name itself. It makes it a pain to get the titles right in the codes.

On the 'Silence' tab, you can select if you want silence to preceed or proceed the track, and adjust the keep time, if you want to.

On the 'Rip Offset' tab, you can select settings for partial rips, fading, etc. For instance, if you wanted to rip only five minutes of an hour long cd of weather sounds, you could watch the 'clock' in media player, and see at what time you want to begin and end ripping, and take out exactly what you want to use. The fade settings are pretty self explanatory.

I always leave the rest of the tabs alone, as I dont' know what they do yet. Click OKAY to go back to the main window.
Once there, click the 'Grab' button. It will tell you when it's done.

Streaming Windows Media Files: Specific to Audio Files

:: Using Free Version Audiograbber to Rip Audio Files From a CD

First, you'll need to download and install Audiograbber , if you don't already have it.

Note: If using the Free Version, it will only allow you to rip half of the songs on a given CD, and it selects which ones you can grab for you. If the track number you want to rip is not available to you when you are given the option to select which tracks to rip, you can get around it by opening and closing the program until the track you want to rip is selected as able to be ripped.

Here are basic instructions for after you open Audiograbber, and the track you want to rip is available to be ripped:

Wah-lah... you now have your .wav file. The next step is to use Windows Media Encoder 7.1 to encode it as a .wma file.
